Lance Franklin’s hamstring injury has been confirmed as a significant one.

The star forward suffered the injury at training on Wednesday.

He isn’t expected to be running for up to a month.

The Swans have confirmed the hamstring injury is worse than the one he suffered in 2019, which saw him miss nine weeks – though this one is on the other leg.

Franklin has thankfully avoided tendon damage to the hamstring, however.

Sydney footy boss Charlie Gardiner gave the official update.

"We can't say here and now how long (Franklin) will be out for but we know it's a decent injury and he won't run for 3-4 weeks. It's slighly worse than what he sustained mid-season last year," he said.
