GREATER Western Sydney has begun a daunting quest to tie away as many of its uncontracted stars as possible, securing key forward Jeremy Finlayson to a new three-year contract extension.

WHO’S MOVING? All the latest trade and contract news

Finlayson, who was dropped for three matches by coach Leon Cameron earlier this season, has otherwise enjoyed a serviceable campaign this year and has kicked at least one goal in every match that he has played.

The 196cm forward had attracted interest from rival clubs recently, but his new deal will ensure he remains at the Giants – where he has played 52 games over the last six seasons – until at least the end of 2023.

The Giants will now go to work on attempting to re-sign a number of other key players, but announced earlier this week that important lockdown defender Aidan Corr will explore his free agency rights.

Reigning Coleman Medal winner Jeremy Cameron is garnering significant rival interest, fellow free agent Zac Williams has a number of potential suitors including Carlton, while star utility Harry Perryman is also uncontracted at the end of this season.

The club’s trio of first-round picks from the 2018 NAB AFL Draft – Jye Caldwell, Jackson Hately and Xavier O’Halloran – are also without deals for next year and have earned the interest of rival clubs.
