Hawthorn has confirmed they have delisted three-time premiership player Jack Gunston, with the plan to pick him up in the rookie draft next month.
Gunston has agreed to be re-drafted in the rookie draft next month to ensure Hawthorn operates within the AFL rules ahead of the upcoming draft period.
“Ultimately this list move ensures the club is in the strongest position possible heading into the draft, which Jack was very supportive of,” Hawthorn list manager Mark McKenzie said.
“Jack’s approach to this list manoeuvre speaks to his selflessness and commitment to Hawthorn in wanting to put the club in the best position moving forward.”
The 242-gamer has booted 452 goals in his career and is set to enter his 16th season in 2025.
