Melbourne forward Bayley Fritsch has been successful in having his one-game ban overturned at the AFL Tribunal on Tuesday night.

The Demons’ leading goalkicker was offered a one-game ban after being charged with striking North Melbourne’s Tom Powell in Sunday’s match.

Match Review Officer Michael Christian originally judged the second-quarter incident to be careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.

After electing to appeal the suspension at the Tribunal, Fritsch was able to have the charge downgraded and is now free to play against Sydney at the MCG on Saturday night.

It’s a big boost for the Demons as they look extend their unbeaten and win their eighth straight match of the season.
