AFL clubs will get their first official chance to tune-up ahead of the pre-season with a host of games to get underway this week.
New Carlton recruit Adam Saad could face off against his former side on Thursday morning when the Blues play the Bombers at Ikon Park.
To avoid any logistical issues regarding interstate travel, clubs will only play against opposition based in the same state.

Clubs will only have one official pre-season match with the first game beginning on Thursday March 5.
All of this week’s practice matches are set to be played behind closed doors with a number of clubs live streaming matches.
The round will coincide with Round 5 of the AFLW season.
Fremantle and Collingwood remain on top of the ladder with four wins after four matches.
