Sydney has confirmed Isaac Heeney broke his hand in the second term of Thursday night’s clash against Essendon.

Heeney came off nursing the injury in the second term and was quickly subbed out of the game, with James Bell activated as the medical sub.

It’s another cruel setback for the Swans star, who looked potent up forward before his night ended early.

On the back of dislocating and rupturing his medial ligament an ankle last year and the subsequent surgery ending his season in just Round 8, it’s an immense disappointment for the young gun.
