Another record-breaking weekend of football attendance with over 400,000 people turning up for the third highest attended round ever.

It's been a great start to the year.

We begin with THE GOOD.

Hawthorn's win over the Dogs was one of the best of the round with some of their youngsters including Connor Macdonald and Jack Ginnivan leading the way.

But the Lions can't be ignored either. Battling injury and poor form, to knock off a lacklustre Suns, perhaps one of the greatest victories under the current regime.

The Crows also got their season on track and the Swans more than passed the test as to their premiership qualities, finally adding contested ball to ball movement and turnover.

Likewise, Melbourne with Harrison Petty finally finding his form up forward, outlasting Geelong whose main man Jeremy Cameron, well, he lost last week's title of the best player in the game to this week's best player in the game – Nick Daicos.

His sublime talent was perhaps the highlight of the round. And have I forgotten ‘The Bont’?

How good was he in a loss? One of the highest rated games in history.

Let's go to THE BAD and Port's inaccuracy.

Well, that was really bad and so too, the decision of Big Harry (McKay) to ignore the long kick to Charlie (Curnow) in the dying moments of the Collingwood game. Opting for the short pass that opened the door for the Pies.

Toby Greene’s gut punch again was bad and so too his form.

North Melbourne's lack of being competitive is bad for all concerned and the competition. Hopefully they can get a win before the season's out.

The amount of kicks falling short, well short of the 15-metre mark and being paid as marks is also bad, but not as bad as the lack of clarity around the decision of a player that's tackled by an arm and he hugs the ball to his chest, goes down, no free kick is paid except for sometimes when a free kick is paid.

Clarification is required and required quickly.

That leaves the old favourite THE UGLY.

Top of the list has to be the Dogs, their yo-yo form and loss to the Hawks – fair dinkum.

If some of the dollars being touted are being paid to the inconsistent tools is true, The Bont pro rata should be on $4 million per season.

The Lions' injuries are ugly and have cruelled their flag chances this year, but the lack of fight from some of the Suns and the team collectively on a big night for the club was ugly in its truest sense, making for a lacklustre Q-Clash.

Lachie Schultz, what was that Lachie?

Other than ugly, it’s lucky it didn't go wrong like Andrew Gaff.

For all you red card critics, another player KO’d, another three-week suspension, another team down one man when it counts.

Oh, that's right Andrew, it doesn't happen anymore.
