Fremantle and the Western Bulldogs will lock horns at Optus Stadium on Saturday night as both sides look to move into the top eight and enhance their bid for a finals berth.

The Dockers (3-3, 108%) will be looking to atone for last week’s horror Western Derby loss to cross-town rivals West Coast, after what was a promising start to their 2024 campaign.

The Western Bulldogs (3-3, 123%) started 2024 sluggishly but comprehensively defeated St Kilda last Thursday night to release the pressure valve on head coach Luke Beveridge.

Beveridge made just one change from the side that dismantled the Saints last week, bringing back Tom Liberatore in favour of last year’s Pick 6, Ryley Sanders (omitted).

On the other hand, Justin Longmuir — understandably — axed three players as part of four changes to last Saturday night’s outfit.

Heath Chapman and Michael Frederick both return, while Patrick Voss and Cooper Simpson have been granted their AFL debuts.

Despite the Bulldogs winning this fixture by 49 points last season, Fremantle has won three of its five matches against the Dogs at Optus Stadium.

The Western Bulldogs have played 10 games all-time at Optus Stadium (including the 2021 grand final), winning just four of them.

The match gets underway at 7:30pm AEST from Optus Stadium.

Watch it live on Fox Footy (channel 504), streaming on Kayo and via Hubbl from 7:30pm AEST.
