Brisbane will be eyeing off a second straight statement win over an early flag contender when it hosts Geelong at The Gabba on Saturday night.

The Lions (2-3, 112.9%) ruthlessly dismantled Melbourne last week in a performance that suggested they can’t afford to be discounted from the premiership market yet.

The Cats (5-0, 138.4%) are one of just two undefeated teams left in the AFL, but dual premiership Kangaroo David King believes Chris Scott’s side could be vulnerable.

“The Cats rarely cough up 100 points, I think for the first time in 2024, Brisbane, who looked really sharp last week and had their forward 50 game in order … it’s about time they turn the page and make another statement off the back of what they did last week,” King told Fox Footy’s Give Me Something.

“I think Joe (Daniher) is ready for a big day.”

The match gets underway at 7:30pm from the Gabba.
