There is a lot of chatter surrounding Essendon and a potential offer for West Coast young gun Harley Reid.

SEN regular and Channel 9 journalist Tom Morris says a possible proposal from the Bombers could be in development.

The No.1 pick from last year’s draft is contracted with the Eagles until 2026 but will undoubtedly field large offers from rival clubs in the coming years.

Morris has placed a watch on the situation.

“Harley Reid’s ok in terms of his contract,” Morris said on SEN Breakfast.

“There will be a big club that comes for him. I just want to put a watch on Essendon and a big offer.

“Just put a watch on this. I’m not saying it’s happened yet, but the Bombers and Harley Reid – there’s just a lot of chat about them at the moment.

“It’s one to keep an eye on.”

Kane Cornes added: “I don’t reckon they’ll be on their own there in throwing a big offer at Harley Reid.”

Reid had 14 disposals, five tackles, four score involvements and two clearances in the Eagles’ six-point loss to the Bombers in Perth on Saturday night.

He has so far played seven games in his debut season, winning a Rising Star nomination for his 27-disposal, seven-clearance effort against Richmond in Round 5.
